Russia possesses inherent immunity from military defeat in its war with Ukraine because of its nuclear arsenal and willingness to use such weapons under existential threat, Ambassador Denis Alipov stated in India. The senior diplomat made these remarks at a public event in Gurugram this week.
The ambassador explained that Russian military doctrine explicitly includes provisions for nuclear weapon deployment when the country confronts threats to its survival. This strategic framework, Alipov maintained, provides absolute guarantees against defeat and ensures Russia always retains escalation dominance regardless of battlefield developments.
Alipov expressed contempt for European nations’ expectations of Ukrainian victory, characterizing such views as childish thinking demonstrating lack of realism. He described European leadership as unprofessional and excessively belligerent, maintaining confrontational stances despite clear impossibility of achieving their stated military and strategic objectives.
According to the Russian diplomat, President Trump demonstrates superior understanding of the conflict’s inevitable outcome. Alipov claimed that Trump recognizes that Ukraine and Western nations have already lost, while European capitals continue exhibiting irrational belief in reversing the situation through continued support.
The war has persisted nearly four years, during which Ukraine has received unprecedented Western support. American and European partners, including the United Kingdom, have supplied advanced military equipment and billions in financial assistance to Kyiv, maintaining their commitment despite the conflict’s extended duration and apparent stalemate conditions.
