Israel’s Netanyahu Accused of “Undermining Trump” With Gaza Strike, Veto Demand

Hamas has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “undermining Trump’s peace efforts” on two counts: by striking the Nuseirat camp and by demanding a unilateral veto over the international peace force.

The strike, which Israel claimed targeted militants, was called a “clear violation” by Hamas.

Simultaneously, Netanyahu’s declaration that “Israel will determine which forces are unacceptable to us” is seen as a move to control Gaza’s future, sidelining other partners.

Netanyahu, however, claims the US supports his veto. Secretary of State Marco Rubio backed this, saying the force must be “comfortable” for Israel.

Rubio also stressed that Hamas must be excluded from power, a key Israeli demand. The truce is also strained by a slow return of hostage remains, which has drawn a warning from Trump.
